Black Lake Therapy is committed to the safeguarding and well-being of children. Sinéad is fully Garda Vetted. Sinéad works within PTUK's/PTiRL Ethical Framework. Black Lake Therapy also has its own child safeguarding statement and child safeguarding policy and procedure that is shared with parents/guardians at consultation stage.
If a child makes a disclosure during a session, Black Lake Therapy will adhere to our Child Protection Policy and Procedures. For further information on child protection, please visit, Tusla.ie. Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children 2017 If a therapist has a concern about a child's welfare, it is their professional duty to report the concern to the Tulsa. The therapist will take appropriate measures to deal with the concern, including contacting An Garda Síochána & Tusla Child and Family Agency. Details on Black Lake Therapy Child Safeguarding Statement/Policy and Procedure is available to parents/guardians on initial consultation. Confidentiality/safeguarding is explained to child (in a child centered way) in the presence of parent/guardian prior to session commencement.
